I would've liked to take seen more psychological development between the 2. It seemed a bit rushed for my tastes. We achieved a HEA without going through the mental hell you would expect from two completely different personalities. Although to be fair, I am someone who loves the mind-fucks a lot more than than what is considered normal so it could definitely just exist me.
I think this championship is perfect for adventurous readers who crave a darker courting and don't mind subjugation and dubious consent but also want a HEA.

I had high hopes for this book.
Umm, what happened to the killer alien? This guy put the populace of Earth to the sword but he luvs his little conflicting wife who is basically a nonentity. There was a hint that he was having problems pushing downwards his mean side and that the human being he was now was not the man he really was inside. Aha! I think, some meat to the story, some conflict. Only no, dropped that line of the story when he finds out that, holy miracle Batman! he'due south knocked up the heroine. She pops out the baby and they all alive happily ever subsequently.
So the author dropped the brawl on world building or making your aliens seem to be, oh, I don't know, alien? Similar dissimilar from humans? And what's with setting this guy up equally a mean MFer and then not including scenes to that outcome and indeed the start/only time he raises a hand to her, he cries in his beer about how evil he was to the poor little angel? He is not sure if he wants to have sexual activity with her... or impale her...or both.He becomes very dislocated when he starts to actually care nearly what she feels.

Stephanie Snowfall did a good job making the (numerous) sex scenes different and not repetitive--no minor achievement for a writer of erotica.My complaints are the aforementioned as many others here: the heroine (Charity) is as well submissive and the relationship between Charity and her alien captor/lover (Melmanon) evolves likewise fast and would have been better served in a longer book.
Charity'south fright and reactions to her situation are realistic and if this had been a crime story with the sex non for titillation it would be spot on. Just this is a fantasy and some verbal dueling between captive and captor would accept been more than interesting.
I liked Charity more toward the cease of the story when she and Melmanon are married and have more than dialogue together. The first part when she is a slave is mostly internal narrative from both Charity and Melmanon, though he does speak in answer to her thoughts at times after reading her mind.
I gave the book 3 stars, but this is not a bad or negative review per se. I am neutral virtually the book. I realize that no book regardless of genre volition appeal to anybody and I don't blame the author for writing a story that didn't appeal to me every bit much every bit I wanted it to.
